FIVE-MINUTE MAKEOVER

STEP 1 – FOUNDATION
When you apply foundation apply it uniformly on to the face with the help of a cosmetic sponge. During daytime, a normal application is enough, but at nighttime, you may need to apply a bit more.

STEP 2 – CONCEALER
If your face has areas like dark under-eye circles, blemishes, red spots or broken capillaries, the concealer can help you to hide these. It can be easily applied to the area, which you wish to conceal with a brush and then blend with your fingertips.

STEP 3 – POWDER
As the finish is lighter it is better to use loose powder to set your foundation. For a sheer finish, apply it lightly with a
large powder brush and for a heavier finish use a puff or sponge. You have to dust a little under your eyes too to set your concealer and also prevent creasing under the eyes.

STEP 4 – EYES
For a quick and easy make up, sweep a single wash of color over the entire area of your eye in a neutral color. Apply it on your brows too. Then apply the liner and mascara.

STEP 5 – LIPS
The lipstick selected should belong to the same color family of the other colors of the face. Line your lips and then fill with your lip color choice. Gloss is optional.

STEP 6 – BLUSH
The intensity of blush can be determined by taking your cue from the rest of your face. During daytime, a light sweep of
color is enough whereas during night, add little more color or glitz with light dusting of Sacha’s Satin Powders.

STEP 7 – FINISH
After finishing the last step, lightly spray a make up hold Spray over the whole of your face to make it set and hold it in
place for a longer time.

TIP:
For long lasting of your brushes clean them as often as possible. Spray some alcohol on a paper towel and sweep your brush lightly over it. If the brushes are of natural hair it is advisable to shampoo and condition it once in a week.

Well, everything you needed to know is explained now and you can now start to work to improve your look and be more beautiful naturally.

LIPSTICK

Lipstick is the most popular beauty product in the market. They are available from corner stores to large cosmetic stores.

They are available in a variety of brands, colors, textures and finishes to create really sexy lips.

Lipsticks can be obtained in traditional tubes, pots, pencils and as wands. Lipstick color selection is based on various factors like personal choice, current fashion trends etc.

To make a perfect pair of lips, first you have to start by lining with a neutral colored pencil following your natural lip line. Then fill with the lip color of your choice inside using a lip brush. With the lip brush only blend the two so that there are no harsh edges.

Lipsticks are available in cream, frosted and matte shades. The secret of creating the picture- perfect lips depends on
the choice of color and correct method of application.

TIPS:

1. If you don’t have full lips then better wear the lightest, frostiest lipstick that you can possibly get. It can make your lips look full. In such a scenario lip-gloss is ideal for you.
2. You can use Lip Protector before applying lipsticks. It will moisturize and nourish the lips and thus prevent it from drying and cracking.
3. To create a lipstick, which is resistant to smudges, first blot your lips with a tissue paper. Reapply lipstick and blot again so that it will absorb the oils in the product leaving the pigment and matte waxes.
4. If you are above 40 years old, then better to avoid using matte finish lipstick. A shine type lipstick will look better in
your lips. Remember to use a lip liner since it builds a dam that prevents the lips from bleeding.
5. To remove lipstick from the cloths apply glycerin on the spot and rub that area lightly and wash as normal.

LIP GLOSS

Even though lipstick is a favorite item for women from long back, now lip-gloss is emerging as its competitor.

TIPS:

1. Lip gloss can be applied over lipstick or alone. Remember that gloss would give stress to the lips and there fore make
your lips appear fuller.
2. Women who have extra full lips should use lip-gloss lightly.

Blush creates warmth or color on your face. This is what the women normally wish to attain on their face.

Blushers can be available in powder, cream or liquid and in a variety of colors. The liquid and cream one need to be applied before powder. Mostly women prefer to use powder blush, as it is easy to use. The blush can be applied easily by sweeping the blush downward from the ear to mid-cheek. You have to start it from a line from the top of the ear and end it at the apple of your cheek. The colors chosen should match exactly with your skin color.

TIPS

1. Less quantity is best
2. Make sure to do the blush test first. Check in the mirror to see that your face is balanced after finishing your entire
makeup. You should use just enough blush only to make look as though you are blushing.
3. Apply some powder over the blush to make it soft. In evenings you can have bit heavier makeup according to the look you wish to obtain. Satin Powders in Golden Bronze and Candy Floss can be used as blushers and are suitable for nighttime glamour.

As per makeup artists, it is the eyebrows that can make or break your face. Eyebrows are the frame which showcases the beauty of your eyes. They move with any or all of your expression on your face and help you to express your feelings.

Start by brushing your brows with a brow brush. Then to measure the brows hold a pencil vertically along the outer corner of your nose to the inner edge of the brow. If your brows overlap into the bridge remove the excess hair. If the brows are small in length then extend it with a pencil. To find out the point where your brow should end, hold the pencil from the outer corner of the nose across the corner of the eyes to the outer edge of the brow. This is the point where the brow should end.

Brows can be altered or emphasized. For that, a brow pencil or brow powders can be used.

TIPS:

1. Always select a brow color, which is very natural in color. The main objective is to define the brow and not create it. To fill in the brows first comb it well and then use feather like stokes with your pencil to fill in. Combing it again after
filling it can create a more natural look. Sacha’s dark brown Single eye shadow is very effective in case of darker brows.
2. If you are using a powdered brow color, then use a hard bristled angle brow brush and draw tiny hair like strokes. The Brow pencils should be sharpened and use in the same way as a brush. A disposable mascara wand can be used to soften it. The technique is to comb, apply and then comb again.
3. If your brows are closer to your eyes or lower, then your face could be opened up by bleaching them.

So many brands and variety of color, texture and type are available in the market and the market is almost saturated with these products. Different types of eyeliners like pencil, liquid, felt tip, cake cylinders etc are offered by companies. The tissues surrounding the eye area are very delicate, so be extra careful while selecting the pencil eyeliner to be soft enough to glide easily. For make up application you need practice as well as a steady hand.

As the pencil eyeliners are easier to control and can give a look that you desire, it seems that they are the most popular.

On the other hand liquid eyeliners need more practice but it can create precise lines if applied with enough care.

The new arrival on the list – felt tip liners are somewhat similar to liquid eyeliners in its consistency, but give the user much more control. Cake eyeliners, which were traditionally used by the professionals, are becoming popular now. There is also an emerging trend of using eye shadow in place of eyeliner. The advantage is that there are a number of color choices available.

If your eyes are wide set, more stress needs to be given on the inner corners of the eye. And for eyes which are close set; stress the outer corners of the eye. For drooping eyes, the outer end of the liner needs to be drawn upwards.

TIP:

When you use pencil eyeliner, keep your mouth little opened in order to relax the eye muscles. This will make the lining much easier for you.

Apply the eyeliner in uniform thickness and as close as possible to the lashes in order to avoid the white line you may find if the liner and the lashes don’t merge.

Mascara is an effective makeup tool after lipstick. It will give more emphasis on lashes as a result your eyes will be looking much opened. Number of color choices and many brands promising thicken, lengthen, darken, volumes and condition your lashes are available. It is available in waterproof and regular formulas.

Proper application technique is very important to apply mascara to get the required finish. Make sure that the mascara covers the lashes from the root to the tip. While you apply mascara on your upper lashes, wiggle the mascara rod back and forth at the base of the lashes to deposit color before rolling the brush through your lashes. The lashes should be coated from very base to the tip with full strokes. By this method the lashes will look much thicker with ends separated and base well defined.

While applying mascara on lower lashes, hold the wand vertically and run this from side to side. Be very careful not to make the under eye area dirty.

When you apply more number of coats, combing in between the coats will help to prevent clumping. Mascara can create a natural effect on eyebrows with some extra control.

TIPS:

If your mascara is new and there is more deposit on the rod you are using to apply, tissue off the rod before applying so as to avoid smudging.

To get more quantity on the brush twirl the brush. Pumping will cause the product to dry out sooner.

Try different colors of mascara preferably brown, navy blue or green.

When applying foundations, there are some rigid rules but when it comes to your eyes, it is your eye color that decides the creative side.

Your eyes are the most important part on your face. So make sure that your eye makeup techniques and choice of colors are capable of highlighting your eye shape and color.

With the eye color, you can create the illusion of new shape and size.

Always remember that light colors can high light and dark colors can shrink the appearance.

While applying eye shadow, sweep the lightest shade from the lash line to brow to cover the entire area. This shade is the base color to your eye in the same way foundation is to your face. It will hold your color and avoid creasing.

TIPS:

On days when you are in a hurry, just apply the base color to the eye and then finish with mascara only.

Once you apply the base color then apply a medium shade on the lower lid. Most women apply eye shadow in this part of the eye. Blend the shade into your base shade.

A third color can be added. Use of a deep dark shade will create depth. This shade should be applied along the lash line and at the outer corner of the eye giving more stress on the crease of the eye and brow bone. It should be blended well. This is your emphasizing shade and when used can create a well-defined eye. The way you apply this contour shade helps your eyes to look bigger, smaller, wider or closer. The main thing is to blend well so that all the attention is to be drawn to your eyes and not to your make up.

EYESHADOW

For making your eye shadow to stay as if the make up is “just applied” for hours, first base your eyelid with a shade which suits your skin color. After that apply a neutral shade or a color nearest to your skin color over the cover cream. When the powder adheres to the cream it will create a smudge resistant base for your eye shadow. It will last for a longer time.

Powder eye shadow can be applied wet or dry. Wet you brush or applicator and make your own eyeliner in any vibrant colors. Applying in the wet form will intensify the color.

Cream eye shadow can be applied as a single color or in a coordinated double color. These cream eye shadows can also
be coordinated with our powder shadows. This cream eye shadow can be used as an under base with a matching powder shadow as a sealant. Your fingertips are the best applicator for any cream eye shadow.

You can improve your glamour by applying shimmering, iridescent Satin Powders to highlight your eyes.

Tips:

When you are applying eye shadow to the crease of your eye, your eyes should be kept open and kept slightly tilted backwards.

This will enable you to create a better shape.

For mature skin, use iridescent shade in limited quantity only.

If your eyelids are puffy, do not apply iridescent or frosted shades in light or white color. Use soft matte colors.

Face powders are very essential thing in your make up routine. They can be obtained in compact or loose form. You have set your foundation with loose powder, which will keep your foundation in place. For touchups compact powder should be used.

Translucent Powders are light textured and can provide a sheer and natural finish. They are lightly tinted and best with yellow-based foundations.

The basic idea is that if you use a translucent powder over your foundation or concealer, then your makeup will be well set with out the use of much extra color.

TIPS:

During summer or in a warm climate, take special care to set your foundation with loose powder, as in heat it may slip away. This usually happens with any cream foundations, as it is oilier in nature.

If your skin is extra oily in nature then try Translucent Powders in Light, Medium or Dark shades. They are sheer and contain natural oil absorbents.

Complexion powders Have great degree of color and are more opaque and can be used alone. They can also be used with foundation to set, adjust or enhance. Some women may use pink foundation and try to neutralize the redness by finishing it with yellow-based powders. This is not a right practice and we will not recommend this, as this will finally turn your makeup to orange. Remember mixing of red and yellow will give orange!

Concealers are available in sticks, tubes, pots and creams and are denser than regular foundations. It is used to conceal the blemishes, dark spots, ruddy areas, marks, veins, freckles or under eye circles.

The concealer you are using should be always one step lighter than your foundation (only in some extreme cases you should use a concealer two shade lighter). If the concealer is too light or too pink it can cause to give you an appearance of ‘owl eyes’. It will only highlight the dark area instead of hiding it.

CONCEALER APPLYING

Use a Fine tipped brush for an accurate application of your concealer. Blending is the key thing required while applying it. Like other applications blending is the key in this too. You should always set your concealer with a sheer, translucent powder so as to prevent it from creasing.

Tips

Make sure that you have properly covered the areas like nose bridge, outer corner of the eyes etc, which tend to be darker. You can hide the age by applying the concealer in little downward turning lines at the corner of your mouth.

Assessing the skin tone is the first step in selecting your foundation or to determine the type of foundation that will best suit you.

The selection of the foundation shade for your skin is a very critical part. Most people have yellow-based tone and need to wear yellow based foundation. All Sacha foundations are yellow based and vary the shade from lightest to darkest. You can identify your shade of foundation at any store. Follow the instruction as per given in the site and identify the shade of foundation that best suit your skin.

For even application you can use cosmetic sponge.

Make your face ready to apply foundation with the use of a suitable cleanser and toner. Then apply Sacha’s Daily Moisturizer, which is a very good under make up base. It improves the right application of foundation and improves its longevity. It is a requirement for all women with dry skin.

Better use a cosmetic sponge for applying your foundation as it provides more control and smoother application.
Liquid foundation should be blended in a small quantity at a time until the whole of your face is covered.
Cream foundation requires a long sweeping motion of application with your cosmetic sponge. It should be blended evenly to get a smooth flawless finish.

A powder foundation should be applied as you do your normal compact powder.

Proper blending is very important. Blend the foundation under the jaw line, into the hairline, on the ear lobes, on the corners of the nose, corners of the mouth, over and under the eyes. After that apply powder lightly with a translucent powder to set your foundation.

Tips:
The foundation should be tested on your jaw line and should not be done on your hand or inside your wrist. Examine it under different light setting. It should match with your natural color of neck.

Wet your cosmetic sponge to create a sheer finish.
