Daily Moisturizers with Sunscreen

Daily Moisturizers with Sunscreen

A quarter century ago, it was not required to wear sunscreen as we do today. The ozone layer surrounding the earth’s
atmosphere protected us from the harmful effects of ultra-violet rays of the sun by deflecting them. But due to the misuse of environment, these layers are deteriorated allowing more UV rays to reach us.

Every day we are exposed to the UV rays causing damage to your skin such as sunburns, skin diseases and premature aging.  Ultra Violet B rays are responsible for sunburns in summer where as UV A rays cause premature aging. These rays are present every day even if sun is out or not.

Therefore it is highly recommended to use sunscreen all through out the year. Sunscreen should not be a part of summer time only; it should be a part of your every day routine.

Sunscreen should be applied 30 minutes before exposure to sun, giving enough time to penetrate in to the skin. Reapply every  3-4 hours and after bathing and profuse sweating. A waterproof sunscreen remains for about 30 minutes in water.

Daily Moisturizers with SPF 15 sun protection provide protection for both UVA and UVB. Higher content of SPF doesn’t  mean a better protection, but a longer protection. For instance an SPF 15 product will provide you with 95% protection whereas an SPF 50 product will provide you with 98 % protection, in this case the difference is negligible.

Daily Moisturizer can also be used as base “under makeup”. Moisturizers with higher SPF seem to be oilier in nature. Hence  it is possible for the makeup to become discolored, if worn over it.
