Eyebrows Maintenance Techniques

Eyebrows Maintenance Techniques

As per makeup artists, it is the eyebrows that can make or break your face. Eyebrows are the frame which showcases the beauty of your eyes. They move with any or all of your expression on your face and help you to express your feelings.

Start by brushing your brows with a brow brush. Then to measure the brows hold a pencil vertically along the outer corner of your nose to the inner edge of the brow. If your brows overlap into the bridge remove the excess hair. If the brows are small in length then extend it with a pencil. To find out the point where your brow should end, hold the pencil from the outer corner of the nose across the corner of the eyes to the outer edge of the brow. This is the point where the brow should end.

Brows can be altered or emphasized. For that, a brow pencil or brow powders can be used.

TIPS:

1. Always select a brow color, which is very natural in color. The main objective is to define the brow and not create it. To fill in the brows first comb it well and then use feather like stokes with your pencil to fill in. Combing it again after
filling it can create a more natural look. Sacha’s dark brown Single eye shadow is very effective in case of darker brows.
2. If you are using a powdered brow color, then use a hard bristled angle brow brush and draw tiny hair like strokes. The Brow pencils should be sharpened and use in the same way as a brush. A disposable mascara wand can be used to soften it. The technique is to comb, apply and then comb again.
3. If your brows are closer to your eyes or lower, then your face could be opened up by bleaching them.

Eyeliner Application Tips

Eyeliner Application Tips

So many brands and variety of color, texture and type are available in the market and the market is almost saturated with these products. Different types of eyeliners like pencil, liquid, felt tip, cake cylinders etc are offered by companies. The tissues surrounding the eye area are very delicate, so be extra careful while selecting the pencil eyeliner to be soft enough to glide easily. For make up application you need practice as well as a steady hand.

As the pencil eyeliners are easier to control and can give a look that you desire, it seems that they are the most popular.

On the other hand liquid eyeliners need more practice but it can create precise lines if applied with enough care.

The new arrival on the list – felt tip liners are somewhat similar to liquid eyeliners in its consistency, but give the user much more control. Cake eyeliners, which were traditionally used by the professionals, are becoming popular now. There is also an emerging trend of using eye shadow in place of eyeliner. The advantage is that there are a number of color choices available.

If your eyes are wide set, more stress needs to be given on the inner corners of the eye. And for eyes which are close set; stress the outer corners of the eye. For drooping eyes, the outer end of the liner needs to be drawn upwards.

TIP:

When you use pencil eyeliner, keep your mouth little opened in order to relax the eye muscles. This will make the lining much easier for you.

Apply the eyeliner in uniform thickness and as close as possible to the lashes in order to avoid the white line you may find if the liner and the lashes don’t merge.
