Hands take a lot of harassment from daily activity and still is one of the most visible parts of your body. You need to give proper attention and take care of your hands well, the same way you protect your face.

- Even during dish washing, keep your hands smooth. This can be achieved by adding about a tea spoonful of almond oil on to dish water. While washing, the water will smoothen your hand and the oil will seal the moisture inside, this is a very good hand care tip..

- Get rid of dead cells on your skin by exfoliating with a solution made of sea salt and lemon. Brush this on your hand using a tooth brush and wash it off. Repeat this twice a week in order to smoothen your hands and you can also get rid of skin discoloration.

- Use warm water and get your hand washed well and then quickly rub it using a rough cloth. Apply a mixture of honey and olive oil in equal parts on your hands and then insert your hands in to some regular plastic bags and then further on to a pair of thick cotton gloves for half an hour. The treatment's effect is increased with the additional heat involved.

- Get a cup of warm milk and soak your hands in it for about five minutes. This will hydrate your skin as well as strengthen your nails. The calcium in the milk makes the nails stronger and the abundant lactic acid (which is a natural alpha hydroxy acid) in it helps in faster regeneration of the new skin cells.

STEP 1
The first step is to get your hands and nails ready to apply nail polish. Massage your hands with a little bit of body scrub and exfoliate it. Rinse the dead skin off and dry your hand very well. If you do not dry your hands well after washing, that could give you chapped hands.

STEP 2
The next step involves filing of your nails. In case, your nails are weak or about to break, try to leave them with rounded edges. The filing movements should be only in one way, from the out side to the middle. Sawing movements on the middle of your nail may affect the strength of your nail plate. Use a smooth nail file which moves smoothly over your nails.

STEP 3
You can smoothen and improve your hands by applying some almond oil on your hands and then wrapping it in a towel for fifteen minutes or so. Once the hands are unwrapped, use a rubber hoof stick and push your cuticles back. Avoid cuticle clippers as they can cut your skin. Use warm water to rinse off oil left on your hands and dry your hands well.

STEP 4
Now you need to apply a layer of base coat on all of your nails and let it dry for a few minutes. This will make the nails stronger. Some varnishes help in covering valleys and peaks on nails! There are all kinds of base coats you can choose and they will provide you even nails to apply nail polish.

STEP 5
If you paint a straight line across the tips of your fingers, that will give you a square look. If you follow the curve of your nail, that will give a rounded look. If you paint from each side of your nails towards the middle, that will give a pointed look. You can get help of sticky strips which comes with some manicure kits as a guide. Keep both of your hands on a steady surface while painting and keep the ball of your painting hand also steady. Wait till the varnish is dry.

STEP 6
Use a layer of translucent shell-pink nail varnish all over the nails to cover the white colored tips and to finish the process. It will need ten minutes before it will be dry. Another clear glossy coat would add additional shine and further lasting protection.
